How to Develop a Custom Tracksuit Set

Treat a tracksuit as two connected garments, not one generic specification. The top and trousers need their own measurements, construction notes and artwork placements. Also decide how customers will buy the set and whether they can choose different top and bottom sizes.

What belongs in a tracksuit brief?

  • Separate front and back references for the top and trousers.
  • Two measurement charts with units and measuring points.
  • Fabric and colour requirements for both garments and their trims.
  • Artwork placement on each garment, including dimensions.
  • Pocket, waistband, drawcord, zipper and cuff details.
  • Quantity breakdown showing sets versus individual pieces.

How do you coordinate colour and fabric?

Review the proposed top and trouser materials together. Even when colours have the same name, different fabrics or dye batches may not look identical. Compare approved swatches in consistent light and clarify how the production colour will be assessed. Include rib, tape, zipper and drawcord colours in the review.

How should sizes be planned?

Confirm whether a medium set always means a medium top and medium trouser. If mixed sizing is allowed, provide a separate quantity breakdown. Check waist, rise, inseam and leg opening alongside the top’s chest, shoulders and length; using the same size label does not establish a coordinated fit.

What should the set sample demonstrate?

Try the garments together and separately. Check movement, proportion, decoration alignment and matching trim details. Review the packaging plan so both pieces can be identified and packed correctly.

  • Approve both garments in the intended production material.
  • Record any changes to each measurement chart separately.
  • Confirm how set quantities affect MOQ and quotation.
  • Agree on sample shipping, revision scope and bulk approval.
