What changes when you choose the inside finish?
The inner surface changes the contact feel of a hoodie. A loopback reference and a brushed reference can look similar from the outside. Ask to see both sides of the swatch, then compare drape, stretch and recovery rather than relying on a front-view product photo.
Compare the two options
| Decision | French terry / loopback | Brushed sweatshirt fleece |
|---|---|---|
| Inside surface | Visible loops on the reverse | Raised, brushed surface on the reverse |
| Design direction | Consider for a loopback feel and layering | Consider for a soft inner surface |
| What still needs checking | Composition, GSM, stretch and shrinkage | Composition, GSM, brushing and shedding |
Which fabric should your sample use?
Specify your sales season, intended fit and preferred hand feel. Fabric weight, yarn, construction and finishing all affect the result; a heavier option is not automatically better. Request a sample in the proposed production fabric so the pattern and decoration are reviewed together.
- Provide a physical garment or swatch if a particular feel matters.
- Confirm fibre composition and GSM separately from the finish name.
- Agree on washing conditions and acceptable dimensional changes.
- Review the inside surface, seams and decoration after washing.
What should you send for a hoodie quote?
Share the hoodie reference, pullover or zip-up construction, size chart, target quantity by colour and size, artwork and destination market. If you are undecided, describe the feel you want and ask which swatches can be reviewed. Availability, MOQ and cost are confirmed for the chosen fabric and design.
